Eastbourne Bowling Club News story

BBC TV filming at Eastbourne Bowling Club

19 May 2016

Eastbourne Bowling Club, Saffron, was the venue on Wednesday 18th for the filming of interviews for part of the BBC TV 1 Sunday Politics programme to be aired on Sunday 22nd at 11am.

Despite the showery weather the scheduled ladies match against Parade Bowls Club went ahead and was used as background and various club members were asked for their opinions on the EU Referendum.

The interviews were conducted on behalf of the BBC by Sara Neville and filmed by cameraman Peter and will be featured during the Sunday Politics South East segment of the broadcast which usually begins at 11hr30.

Eastbourne Bowling Clubs Paul Furley said, There was a match in progress which was not disturbed and many club members mucked in as extras.  Sara was charming and made each of her interviewees feel at ease.  They filmed for about one hour but we will be featured for only two or three minutes, I think.  It was a fun experience for us all, in rather damp conditions.
