Eastbourne Bowling Club News story

News Update 5 Feb 2025

05 Feb 2025

1. I have received the following message from George Brown regarding the new club shirt:

Important note to all full members that are intending to bowl this coming season

If you have not yet been measured for new Club shirts, please be advised that the last opportunity that you are able to try sample garments will be either next Tuesday 11th or Wednesday 12th February.  Sample shirts will be available to try at our clubhouse between 1.00pm and 4.00pm on either of these days.   If you are not able to attend either of these dates / times, please advise without delay.   It is important that all playing members participate; please do not just rely on a new club shirt being available at the start of the season.   Please remember, if you do not order a shirt, this may compromise your ability to play in early club matches and you may also lose the opportunity to buy an initial Club shirt at the heavily discounted rate of £10.00, further shirts at £24.00 each.   Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation.

2. It is with pleasure that I can advise that "Jack and Bowl" Roadshow will be visiting Eastbourne Bowling Club on Monday 28th / Tuesday 29th April.   Mark Royal will be presenting their extensive range of Bowls, Shoes, Bags, Clothing and Accessories.  Please note that their inventory will definitely include Maroon shorts and possibly maroon trousers (this to be confirmed).  Put the date firmly in your diaries, further details will be posted closer to the event

3.  George will be conducting a Quiz at our Clubhouse on the evening of Saturday 22nd February.  There are currently spaces for an additional two teams of six people, the Quiz is scheduled to commence at 7.00pm.  If you are interested in entering a team, please contact George on 07771 625248 without delay.

4.  Brian Clements will be commencing the work on the car park next Monday and has requested that all members who wish to enter the clubhouse do so via the side gate.   Please do not walk across our car park where heavy machinery will be operating.

Many thanks

Gillie Hill

Secretary Eastbourne Bowling Club.
