Founded in 1897, Eastbourne Bowling Club has a long tradition of lawn bowls and community spirit. Our two superb 6-rink greens host local, county, and national competitions, and our refurbished clubhouse accommodates over 100 guests with excellent bar and catering facilities. Members also benefit from on-site parking as part of their membership, making the club easily accessible throughout the year.
We welcome bowlers of all ages and abilities and offer strong coaching for beginners and novices. The club is also a lively social hub, with both winter and summer activities such as short mat bowls, quizzes, snooker, cribbage, and table tennis.
Eastbourne Bowling Club is affiliated to Bowls England and Sussex County Bowls. We respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every person and treat everyone equally regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality, or social or economic status.
Lawn bowls has been played for centuries and remains a thrilling, strategic sport enjoyed by all ages. The aim is simple – roll your bowls as close as possible to the small white ball called the ‘jack’ on a carefully maintained green divided into rinks. Players compete in singles or teams, earning points for every bowl closer to the jack than their opponent’s. Combining skill, tactics, and precision, lawn bowls is as much about friendly competition and focus as it is about community and camaraderie, making it a welcoming sport for everyone.
